The £9 million headquarters building for international research and consultancy organisation HR Wallingford, has
been built with sustainability in mind. Kestrel House is BREEAM Excellent rated, the highest award given by the Building Research Establishment for an environmentally friendly building. The sustainable initiatives include bore-hole water to cool the building through chilled beams and a rainwater harvesting system to collect and re-use water.
A faceted array of Contrafin aerofoils that spanned the north and south elevations of this project demanded a high quality finish and overall look that was in keeping with the building design whilst also providing the function of solar shading and maintaining a comfortable working environment.
