Our works on completed on the vibrant New. Waverley Square development, which is right in the heart of Edinburgh’s historic Old Town.
What really sets it apart is the fact that it’s surrounded by a wide range of new luxury shops, destination restaurants, elegant public areas and dynamic workspaces. Because of its central position and its enviable array of attractions, the area around Waverley Square has an atmosphere that is artistic and inspiring, cutting edge and cool, in short, it is a new creative , cultural hub for Edinburgh. As well as a package that included our G30Z louvres with integral insect screen mesh, we have designed and installed 48no striking Manual Bi-Fold shutters to the feature tower that can be seen finished in a vivid powder coated Axalta City Terracotta finish on the New Street Square, just off the Canongate. The tower reaches upwards to the 6th floor of development, so our installation was carefully and skilfully managed in house to minimise time spent working at height and therefore reduce risks on site.
The shutters consist of perforated aluminium sheets to achieve maximum strength at minimum weight and are fixed to rigid 40/40 extruded aluminium frames. The perforation pattern is created using 30mm diameter holes on a staggered pitch. The Bi-Folding frames are fixed together with stainless steel hinges and the assembled screens are then fixed at head and base to our horizontal support rails to allow them to slide and pivot, giving the apartments occupants their own outdoor space in the heart of the Capita l, and plenty of external light to the balconies.
