A new development replacing the old Aquarena on Worthing seafront. The new leisure centre provides a range of swimming facilities alongside a health and fitness suite and cafe. Wilkinson Eyre Architects were appointed following an RIBA competition, their design focus was to connect the beach front facade to the land behind. Which led to each pool area having its own unique south facing terrace area with a large expanses of glass.
We provided Brise Soleil across these curtain wall facades, engineering the bespoke connection details to the main steel structure and the curtain wall mullions. The architects design required the Brise Soleil to add depth to the facade which we achieved by using varied n widths within the bays.
