Bayes Building University of Edinburgh

Product:

Western Red Cedar Eco Fin

Architect:

Bennett Associates

The Bayes Centre will bring together academics and students working in the fields of data technology, design informatics, maths and robotics with start-up / spin-out companies and industrial collaborators. The building features an in-house designed and installed brise soleil solution utilising our 200mm Western Red Cedar Fins with Class O fire rating, set within 6mm SS brushed satin side plates.

Edinburgh leads the way in these fields and will now have a building worthy of its reputation. An impressive atrium with break out areas, open plan working spaces and a large ground floor café will facilitate interaction between different specialties, bringing together departments previously spread across the city in many smaller buildings. A venue is provided for conferences, seminars and social events for academics from across the UK and beyond. Collaborators will enjoy the fourth-floor roof garden with its stunning views of Arthur’s Seat.
