Two new offices, Flow 1 and Flow 2 were developed from an existing 1980’s office block on a site next to the banks of the Thames in Staines, Middlesex. The project achieved a BREEAM excellent rating with the help of passive solar control measures and good natural day-lighting to limit the usage of artificial light.
Contrasol designed and installed the large vertical Brise Soleil bays to the main feature elevation of Flow 1. Our 400mm wide aerofoil fins are vertically stacked and fixed horizontally between a bespoke extruded aluminium cubic frame. To support the larger spans in the bigger bays we incorporated vertical drop rods through the fins. We also installed horizontal projecting Brise Soleil panels over the atrium entrance areas for both offices.
